Neal Street and HBO announce the main cast of The Franchise, a half hour comedy series about the making of a superhero movie. 

The Series Regular cast are:

Billy Magnussen, Jessica Hynes, Darren Goldstein, Lolly Adefope and Isaac Powell.

Recurring Guest Stars are:

Daniel Brühl and Richard E. Grant. 

The idea for the show came from Sam Mendes who will also direct, making this his TV directorial debut. The show follows “a hopeful crew trapped inside the dysfunctional, nonsensical, joyous hellscape of franchise superhero movie-making. If and when they finally make the day, the question they must face — is this Hollywood’s new dawn or cinema’s last stand? Is this a dream factory or a chemical plant?”

Jon Brown is showrunner and executive producer. Armando Iannucci executive produces via Dundee Productions. Keith Akushie, Marina Hyde and Jim Kleverweis are also executive producers. 

The show will be executive produced for Neal Street by Pippa Harris, Nicolas Brown and Julie Pastor, and will be produced by Neal Street for HBO.
